What I find very important in my treatments is that the client takes ownership of the (learning) process and that there can be fun in learning something. I do this by having an equal attitude. I think (out loud) with them and we see together what fits best.
I like to describe my approach as a helicopter view. I look at the client as a person in the broadest sense, like a helicopter in the sky, and I am curious about what a child or adult needs to achieve the goal. In doing so, I also use my experiences and theoretical knowledge to make the treatment as successful as possible.
From my training days, I had internships with the target groups children to adults within rehabilitation after brain injury, for example. In my work experience time, a few more target groups I enjoy working with were added, such as breathing, voice and lung covid (persistent symptoms after covid). It excites me when I can work with different target groups.
I would like to share below an overview of the areas for which you can engage me.
Children:
- Pronunciation of sounds and articulation.
- Oromyofunctional therapy (oral motor skills and deviant oral habits).
- Language delay and language development disorders (TOS).
Adults:
- Speech and language disorders due to brain injury.
- Breathing & voice.
- Lung covid.
- Learning a (Dutch) accent.
- Regular improvement of speech (think too high a speaking rate or inner-mouth
articulation).
- Speaking in education and business with a powerful voice.
