At TinyEYE, we focus on providing speech therapy that benefits both children and adults in The Hague. Our children's therapies are designed for playful learning and motivation, with activities that are age-appropriate. We help improve speech clarity, language development, overcome stuttering and support with learning problems related to language.
For adults, the focus is on restoring or improving communication skills that may have been affected by, for example, neurological disorders, voice problems or hearing loss. Our approach includes rehabilitation after stroke, therapy for voice disorders and support for speech and language problems due to degenerative conditions.
This category covers a wide range of challenges, from articulation disorders, where individuals have difficulty forming certain speech sounds correctly, to phonological disorders, which relate to the pattern in which sounds are used. Apraxia, a complex speech disorder, is characterised by difficulties with motor planning of speech movements. At TinyEYE, we approach these disorders with tailored therapies aimed at improving speech production and clarity.
Language disorders can affect both expressive (the ability to express thoughts) and receptive (the ability to understand language) language use. Aphasia, often the result of brain injury, can have a profound impact on both expressive and receptive language skills. Our approach at TinyEYE focuses on restoring these skills through intensive, personalised therapy plans.
Hearing loss can have a significant impact on communication. Our speech therapists work with clients to develop communication strategies that are effective despite hearing impairments. This may include using visual aids or training other senses to improve communication.
Dysphagia can seriously interfere with the swallowing process, leading to problems with eating and drinking. Our therapies focus on developing safer swallowing techniques and, if necessary, dietary adjustments to minimise the risk of choking or aspiration.
